Three nurses and four assistants ventured into five locations throughout Banda Aceh to give free medical care to the local Acehnese people. Overall, 600 people were helped over a four day period. Two locations were in the city while two were held in outlying villages. Local workers helped translate for the nurses which helped them diagnose the various ailments the people came to have treated. Appropriate medicines were given to patients and those that came were very appreicate for the service. Toys and sweets were also given out to the children that came. The team did encounter a few new challenges unlike they have experienced before. Since this was their first trip to Indonesia they were not used to some of the local customs and traditions. Inspite of this they continued on and proceeded to give extra special care to all that came for help. A great big thank you goes out to all that came and gave of their time and talents!
