Appeasing Hungry Ghosts

August is the month that the Chinese Buddhists & Taoists in Singapore celebrate the Mid Autumn Moon Festival. One of the rituals is to burn paper 'hell' money to appease the hungry ghosts that are on the loose at this time of the year. The picture above was taken at our apartment complex of some of the residents burning this hell money.
